Artist Point on a Cloudy Day

Artist Point is an incredibly beautiful place, renowned for its expansive views of Mt. Baker, Mt. Shuksan, and the surrounding mountains. Visitors from all over flock here during the few months the road is open in the summer, especially on a nice day. However, on cloudy days, the area is quite moody and makes for some fantastic pictures and views. I was fortunate to get one such day this summer, and after arriving in the early afternoon, we slowly made our way around the loop, stopping to take pictures and enjoy the views. We timed our arrival at Herman Saddle just as sunset was making its appearance, and were able to grab a few unique shots of Shuksan with alpenglow and fog. It was a great day!
